Uniform Resource Locator (URL)
A URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is the address of a resource on the internet, such as a website, a file, or an image. It is a string of characters that uniquely identifies the location of the resource, and it typically consists of several components, including the protocol, domain name or IP address, and the path to the resource.
For example, the URL for our homepage is: https://alacartewebservices.com/. The “https” part of the URL is the protocol, which determines how the resource is accessed, while the “alacartewebservices.com” part is the domain name, which identifies the server hosting the resource. The “/” at the end of the URL represents the path to the root directory of the website.
