Tooltip
A tooltip is a graphical user interface (GUI) element that provides additional information when a user hovers or clicks on a specific element, such as a button, icon, or image. It typically appears as a small text box or speech bubble that appears near the cursor, displaying relevant information about the element being hovered over.
Examples of tooltip use cases include:
- Providing additional information about a product or service when hovering over an icon or image on an e-commerce website.
- Displaying a brief description or definition of a term or concept when hovering over a word or phrase on an educational website.
- Indicating the function of a button or icon when hovering over it on a software application or website.
- Displaying error messages or warnings when hovering over an element that requires additional input or attention.
- Tooltips can help to enhance user experience by providing contextual information without the need for additional clicks or page navigation. They can also be used to provide visual feedback or instructions for users, making it easier for them to understand how to interact with an interface.
